HI everybody, got some information that I would like to pass this on, I have two 01 GTX DI'S matching pair of blue ones, one is mine and one is my girlfriends this past summer I pulled the engine out of my ski to rebuild it, everything was salt water corroded terribly, engines only have a little over a 100 hours, on both of them, I finally got the engine torn down had it water sandblasted to clean it for re-assembly, everything smooth, used a lot of old 70's hot rod tech, I'm old school, then the other day I finished repainting the hull and plastics, on my girlfriends pulled out her engine so

time to put the rebuilt engine back in, all new colored and clear hoses, was tracing where all the lines went, came up one short ok now onto the issue that I ran into, with help of racer XXX, help me to find a puzzling problem, have the parts manual and the service manuals on my pc, read and traced every hose and line over and over, could not find where this hose went, was talking with racer, and he sent a print of what could be the answer to my problem, turns out one has a "CARTER ENGINE CASE" and the other one is not a carter, I'm having issues with attaching photo's

I think I have them in my profile now, went back to the engine that came out of hers, it has a oil fitting on the lower case under the air compressor, if you look close at the pic of my lower case, you will notice it has the boss, but has no threading or port to install the oil injector, so I'm guessing this is the difference between the two cases, valued lesson learned just because they are the same models and years doesn't mean they are Identical anyways sorry for the long post, just wanted to get all the facts out to closely compare a different engine you get back as a re-build, hope this helps someone else and many thanks to racer XXX
