I have a 00 Seadoo rx carb and im having a problem with it cutting out at high rpm's i have rebuilt the carbs set them to factory settings the rave vales have been cleaned, the compression is 135 in one and 140 in the other cylinder. I can't figure out why it keeps doing it. Any thing at full throttle and it will cut in and out. Some times I can hit waves and it will hit full throttle but only once in a while. Please I need help!!!! I have been doing a lot of reading and surching but with no luck.

Thank you Casey

I have the same problem! It has me po'ed cause I'm not able to run top speed, mine has gotten worse though, I am beginning to suspect we may be running really lean? Or there is some ignition issue.... I'll be following this and try to do some research if I can, I'll have to watch for my boss haha cause I'm at work surfing the sea doo forum, model employee over here

I know the filling iv been reading and can't figure it out for nothing. The ski runs great at low rpm's i can hit the throttle and it will take off just fine but as soon as i hit about 5500 rpm's it cuts out. If i have any luck i will make sure to update it here

Unplug the rectifier and see if the issue goes away. It will not charge the ski while it is unplugged.

I will give that a try. is there a ground that runs off the back power box. and if so do you know where it goes i was looking and i only can find two ground point. i wanted to try and clean all the grounds before i take it back out again..

Clean the rave valves and make sure the rave solenoid is working.

Yes the rectifier is internal to the MPEM.
Start the ski on the trailer and rev to 4000rpms while a volt meter is connected to the battery and read the voltage. Should be 13vdc or better, but not over 14.5vdc.

Ok I will try that. I Pulling the vacuum line that runs to the rave valves. Is the check
Valve suppose to be hard to blow threw?? I have it the right direction.

Ok so the other day I went back over the rave valves and noticed one of them would not hold pressure. Do you think that if one of them is shut that it will make it cut out. I have already rebuilt them but won't get a chance to take it out for a few weeks..

Thanks Casey

To clarify does it actually cut out or does it just stop building rpm. If is stops building rpm it could be the TPS in the throttle cable or the rear water regulator. Either of these can limit rpm to the lower 6,000. A healthy 947 should be pulling 6,800-7,000 rpm on top.

Cutting out on the high end is caused by a lack of something. Lack if spark, compression, fuel, or air. Timing should not be an issue. Isolate the missing items, and remedy.

The piston melted because it got too hot. It did not contact other parts. Too hot: Wrong plugs, wrong fuel, wrong fuel ratio, insufficient lubrication, malfunctioning cooling system, or you flew toooooo close to the sun.

99% of the time this is caused by dirty fuel system or carbs. Running lean on top end.
