Hello everyone. I have lurked for years and found this place to be a gold mine of knowledge. Thanks to all.
Ihave a matched pair of 99 GTX Limiteds with of course the 951 carb engines. One I have owned for many years. The other I recently bought and am re-installing the oil injection.

I had to purchase the oil pump and drive shaft on ebay. I looked up the part numbers and was sure I had all my ducks in a row. New hose, filter, good used pump, etc. Installing the black plastic pump coupler/drive and putting the mag cover back on it appears the drive for the oil pump is too long. I am a pretty good mechanic and used a mirror and checked seventeen ways from he** and it is just plain too long. Part number 420837390 should fit but it actually protrudes out of the mag cover about a sixteenth of an inch. The oil pump has a small shoulder which protrudes INTO the hole in the mag cover, so it is not even close. I am sure it is a 947 engine, but I know nothing of it's history as I just bought this ski. For all practical purposes this engine externally looks identical to it's trailermate. There are, incidentally three drive shafts listed for a 951 engine the only differences in part numbers being the last digit. The one I have ends in 390. There is also a 392 and a 395. They all physically appear identical except for maybe length. Before I go and buy one of each I would like to actually solve this some way other than trial and error. Thank You in Advance all you sharpies out there.

There is a very small o ring on the shoulder of the pump where it fits into the mag cover, and there is a large o ring which seals the perimeter of the mag cover like on all Rotax engines. Thanks

You got that right. But there could be some parts made in Mexico (the new Spark it seems is partly made there).

I am starting to dislike this company. My Polaris ATV 2011 works much better. Never failed me after 6,000 miles.

Benji.
