Did you ask them why? I don't think Sea-Doo recommends that oil, and you are the customer. So, if you aren't satisfied, let them know and demand an explanation. I would contact Sea-Doo and ask if this will violate your warranty.

Supposedly this is what they use in all of the skis they service, they talked about it like it was gold, I am in South Florida so I think the 10w40 is good weight to use but .... going to fire off an email to Sea-doo today

My dealer uses ONLY BRP oil. No idea why another dealer would use something different since BRP oil is intended for BRP use.

The brand of oil doesn't matter as long as it meets Seadoo's spec and weight.
If they allow a conventional 10w-40 then any brand is fine.
Now if the manual doesn't allow that weight or service rating then the dealer has some splaining to do and could have voided your warranty.

This from BRP:

Thank you for taking the time to contact BRP.

In response to your request, we do not have a list of compatible lubricants available. We advice that you speak with the dealership, if need be a service manager.

Should you have any other questions or comments, do not hesitate to reach us by replying to this email or call us at T + 888.272.9222.

Once again, thank you for contacting BRP.

Well, sounds like BRP customer service is worthless. So take it to the dealer that used the wrong oil and said it was fine? Pretty crappy answer.

So your owner's manual says to use...

Use XPS 4-STROKE SYNTH. BLEND
OIL (SUMMER) (P/N 293 600 121) or
XPS 4-STROKE SYNTHETIC OIL (ALL
CLIMATE) (P/N 293 600 112). (If the
recommended XPS TM engine oil is
not available, use 5W40 or 10W40 API
SERVICE SN synthetic oil).

Yamalube 10w-40 is a mineral oil (conventional) and is not a API Service SN synthetic as the manual requires for your engine.
So in short the dealer is using the wrong oil and it will void any warranty because it is the wrong oil.
I would go back and demand they remove and replace with the correct oil. If the service manager will not listen to you then go to the owner. If they will not help then contact BRP and ask to talk to a supervisor and launch a complaint against the dealer.

As a BRP dealer they are required to use the correct products as required by the manufacturer for maintenance.

Welldone! Didn't know that Yamalube was a conventional oil. Get it out of your ski quickly! I'd question any service department that made that kind of mistake! Find another service provider.

Yamalube actually offers conventional (mineral), semi-synthetic, and full synthetic oil. However, 10W40 is only available in conventional form. As such, it does not meet the manual's requirements. I'd take the ski back and make them change it an oil that meets spec and ask to see them pour the new oil in (to prove they changed it). If not, I'd be very willing to be they will just say they changed it and hand it back without touching it.
