Im currently rebuilding the motor in my 96 XP that has been sitting for a bit. After reading on the forums last night i see a lot of people are using Full Bore.

My pistons are standard as of now never been open so it will most likely go .25 over. My question is would you guys go WSM or Pro-x the only think it has is a pipe and the carbs jetted. Not racing but maybe in the future, for not just beating it on the river and lake.

I have read on a couple sites some hate WSM and say its junk? I used it in the past and never had issues however the price difference for Pro-X is 55 bucks so if its worth it ill do it if not I'm good with asm

Thanks for the help here guys

IF it were all stock I would say WSM all the way but since you have a pipe and it is rejetted I would go Pro-X. They are a little better quality and having the pipe your engine is running a little harder.

THe next question is why are you rebuilding it and are you rebuilding the balancer and crank too?

I will sell you .25 over OEM pistons(new in box) for $90 each shipped if you want. Otherwise I'd go with ProX.

Not a bad deal, OEM pistons come with rings. If it were me I would get Matt's pistons and send them to Group K for machining. They charge $90 for both cylinders.

The tolerances are a little better as is the metallurgy. Also they use a little different top ring design that some say is better than the aftermarket.

I had two different WSM pistons that the ring pin fell out of and broke the piston, I'll never use them again. I have SBT pistons now, they have 3 seasons on them with no issues.
