long time coming but its time to fix her back up. bear brown still running strong but crank seals are leaking and it has never charged as long as I have had it together so off to the machine shop for a top to bottom rebuild with premium parts IMG_20141016_073812.jpgI am going to use these carbs and a factory spec1 pipe and a r&d head I will need to find a rotary valve cover because the team butch one I have looks bad I wouldn't even want to try it
questions.
what kind of bearings/seals/pistons ect do you guys recommend
one of my motors has a hot rod crank in it should I reuse parts from it or the stock one
should I use the 95 crank case or a 96 "diff porting"
I have more questions but this is a good start ill also get some good pics of everything

If it was me I would only use OEM crank, pistons, bearings and seals.

I am not sure of the difference between a 95' and 96 case but I don't think there is any porting differences. If you can fine a 97' or newer set of cases they have the balancer oil drain ad fill plugs so that is nice.

95 cases intake tract is a little more open the later ones have a ridge in the intake port racerxxx has pics of it in one of his threads

Yep, ports are better on the 95 cases. I believe the 787rfi cases have the same ports as the 95's.
