Wrong Impeller??

Hey guys, I was having problems with my ski running over 30MPH. I thought the carbs just needed cleaning. Took it in to a local shop and they said someone installed the wrong impeller. They put a Nujet impeller on that was apparently for a bigger engine. He is not 100% sure this will fix my problem but he is sure that it is the wrong impeller. There is no Tach so I am not sure what the RPMS are but it does rev high on a trailer. In water, once you hit 3/4 throttle, thats it, you get nothing more from the last 1/4. How would a ski run with an impeller that is not meant for it?

The seadoo is gonna run high on a trailer, which isn't recommended. There isn't any load on the impeller as it gets in the water. There should be markings on the impeller to determine if it is wrong or the correct one. The wrong impeller will either give you more top end speed with less take off or quicker take off and less top end.

unless to tall of a pitch, and motor cant twist it up...then you'll have 30mph at 5k, cuz motor just cant "put-out" any moe..

If you have full 150 compression you can still get it to run at full rpm's it just takes a little longer. I've done lots of experimenting with too much or too little pitch...

Actually, timmyboy76 is right. The higher the pitch, the lower the max RPM will be. Unless, of course, you increase the horsepower of the engine.
