Anyone try these yet ? I have a 97 GSX and would like the best battery I can get regardless the price. Absolutely MUST work with stock engine and no fancy charging stuff.

IMO so far I'd say Odyssey battery. (625 CCA in the same size casing as a 16CL-B that only puts out 210)

OR a 20AH AGM battery that puts out 310CCA works well and is all I use so far.

But as far as LIPO, (Lithium Polimer) UM,,, no I wouldn't. Bad things happen when they explode from drawing too much current :P

Lithium ION batteries are much more stable though and I think that's what's inside the WPS battery but so far haven't been able to see for sure.

LifeP04 Maybe, Probably a 16 cell should do it. (Lithium Ferrous Phosphate) Much more stable of a battery whit a hell of a punch for its weight.

But all of these special batteries require special maintenance charge once in a while to balance the charge on each cell.

Just my 2 cents :)

An AGM glass mat battery is the way to go. No need to spend a lot of money, under $100.00 at Auto Zone or Advance.

BTW welcome to the SeaDoo Forum.

not a chance i'd use a lithium - anything in a ski or boat. lipo and li-ion would both require fancy charging setups to keep from smoking the battery, and when they get over charged, or overused, they swell, and eventually rupture and either explode or catch fire. no thanks.

o'reilly's sells ready to drop in AGM batteries that are as good as you'll find for any price anywhere.

I get the $60 or so battery at advance. usually get 2-3 years out of them. work just fine for many, many starts during a day.

OK then...thanks to all. I'll get the AGM from local supply and give it a try. I just don't trust those everstarts when my daughter is out with her friends on the ski. I'm always worried about the crappy battery.

agm, local supplier, 16L if I remember correctly.

i get mine at either advanced (coupon) or batteries plus. always under $100 always last 2-3 seasons and I swap it out to an older ski and replace mine. They might last 1 more year, but IMO its not worth getting stuck 15 miles from the ramp.

You mean Never-Start right?
Lol I have two of those going in the trash this year.

Walmart batteries.... First I would like to say I would NEVER buy a Walmart motorsports battery, they are total crap made in China. However their marine and automotive batteries are as good as anyone's.

My boat had an Everstart marine battery in it which I replaced this year, the battery still took a charge and started the boat fine, I replaced it because the date sticker on the battery was 2006. I replaced it with another Everstart, which is the identical battery to the Sears diehard.
