Wired in new mpem, starter button wont work.

I bought and installed new mpem and wired it in, color coded, all black wires to posts, and the two ringed red wires to the positive post on solenoid but now the starter button does not work. You can jumper the posts in the solenoid and start it that way, but before this the starter button worked fine. Any ideas or does anyone know what wires control the start button? I bought the exact mpem that came out of the ski.

double check the wiring, but the MPEM may be bad.

Is it a new OEM MPEM?

Its not new, but it came from a running ski that had hull damge. Like I said though you can jumper the solenoid and ski will crank and run.
