winterizing question

Is it ok to use rv antifreeze when winterizing my 1995 seadoo xp???It is red in color.Im in new york city and we do get freezing temps so i want to fill the engine with antifreeze.also which hoses do i clamp so the antifreeze wont pour out?

Not sure on your hose to clamp but the RV stuff is fine. It wont harm the environment either.

Lot's of people around here recommend the RV anitifreeze.

Also, you don't necessarily have to clamp the hose. This is more or less to allow you to see the antifreeze in the drain hose, as clamping it backs it up and is easier to see. If you are using the Pink RV antifreeze, you should have no issues seeing it in the drain hose. Most seadoo manuals that I have seen have you stop pouring in antifreeze and unclamping the hose as soon as you see it in there (the hose). The antifreeze should drain out, leaving some residual behind mixed with any water also left in your engine.

As far as which hose, without looking at the your particular machine, I can tell you that it would be the bottom most clear plastic hose coming from the engine and running towards the rear of the ski.

I start mine, without water, then turn on water, warm it up a bit, then kill water, shut off engine. restart engine, blow out water...

then fill a 5 gallon bucket with 2 gallons of that RV stuff, and I have a water pump... hook pump to ski. start engine. start pump... run 2 gallons through engine w/engine on, when pump runs dry i shut off the engine...

then pull plugs, spray fogger in pistons, then replace plugs, pull battery for winter, wash whole thing, dry, cover, and cry because it will be 195 days from today until I take that cover off...
