Will all 717/720 motors interchange?

So I was looking up a bottom end for my 717/720 engine. Looking for a crankcase as well. When I look stuff up on ebay it pretty much says will fit up to 2001. My seadoo is a 2004 GTI so that's why im wondering. It has the silver engine. I know that the color really doesn't matter its painted at the factory but im getting confused. Also when I look up the microfische thing its different part numbers for lets say a later 90's model and the 2004

Yes they are the same!

Not 100%change, they moved the pulse line to the rear.
Not a huge deal.
I have a good complete silver engine for 500.
