I have a 1996 XP and the magnet came off the fuel float. Its the hard foam type float not the plastic type. I looked around and cant find any info on this.

Where to glue?

What type of glue?

I could only find one magnet, is there more?

Thanks for the help.

If you have it out... throw it in the trash, and buy a blow molded version. (you can get them on ebay)

With the newer fuels... the alcohol , and water will make them sink.

The plastic one looks like this with TWO magnets.

You could use epoxy to secure it. The other way to do it (if you get ALL of the fuel off of it) is to plastic weld it to the float.

Might be worth just getting a new float (plastic) if you can't get the foam float to cooperate.

Thank you for the replys.

I have had the foam float sitting in a cup of gas for about an hour now and it is still floating. Looks to be in good shape. Just the magnet fell out. Im kinda short on time for now and it is really easy to get out on this XP so I can replace it when I get the new one in the mail.

Does the magnet go in the center or the float? Pressed into the groove?

Are those new 2 magnet ones better than my 1 magnet one? More accurate?

Will it throw off the signal?

I read somewhere that they dont fit all sending units. They rub or something. Will it fit my 96 XP?

Thank you for your time.
