this season I'm going to the beach to put the xp trought it paces and I'm not sure where to connect the hose to flush all that saltwater out afterwards.

I looked at the back of the pump and you got like 3 or 4 different garden hose sized outlets in there. can anyone point out the one i should hook up to? any special instructions?? thanks everyone.

almost forgot, it's a stock 1999 xp with the 957.

Looking from the rear, it is the pipe that sticks out about 4 in. next to the pump in the top rt hand corner. It has threads in the end for a garden hose. Engine must be running when you flush or you can cause engine damage. Flush for about 3 minutes only. Flushing for a extended period of time can overheat the driveline.

When i do mine, i use a quick connector and coupler on the hose. Picked them up in the garden section of walmart. Just make sure you unscrew the connector when you are done.

I have mine where I can put my Saltaway adapter on the hose, so I open the seat to flush. Rinse ski & trailor down with fresh water hose and into inlet grate & nozzel, shut water off. Remove seat and airbox !/4" center rubber plug. Attach hose to backflush fitting. Start motor,
then turn on hose to low medium and idle engine 1-2 minutes, lower ski front, then shut off water. Bip a coupla times to get the water in tuned pipe out into exhaust, then fog into airbox hole your fogging oil with straw tube into engine bip, fog & kill. Put fog plug back in and get the
wet vac out and vac any water in compartment. Use your favorite anti-corrosive spray, like Boeing T-9, or WD-40 everywhere, engine wires, ect ect. grease the zerks, white lithium grease with small paint brush on all carbs, cables, aluminum parts, ect. Thats about it. Bill
