Where is the signal wire located on 787 solonoid?

I have electrical issues with my 1996 GSX. I was told to test signal wire, but I don't know what it looks like or where it connects. Can anybody help me with this?

Unplug the 2 small wire plug coming into the side of the solenoid. 1 is a ground the other supplies power. You should have voltage there when you press the start button.

I should have voltage where? After I unplug the plug. are you suggesting I take multi meter and probe the 2 little contacts on the plug? Does getting voltage imply all is good leading up to the solenoid?

Yes. You'll find out if you are getting power to that point.
