I need to troubleshoot the beeper (not the horn) on my Sportster 1800. Sometimes I get a really strong Beep-Beep when I put the DESS key on the post. Other times it is very faint, or not audible at all. The engines crank and run fine, so I know it's not the batteries or the Key.

I just can't seem to fine the actual beeper? Where is it? What does it look like?

Thanks.

Look under the dash by your knees on the driver side of the boat. When they go bad they will still vibrate but not send out any sound. It's about 1.5" in diameter and black in color.

beeper problem

I had the same problem with mine last year and was not able to solve it. I removed it and put it across the battery worked fine put it back in the boat and
it is just faintly making any sound. bought a new one and it did the same thing .
let me know what you find and how you solve this issue.
thanks

It could be a wire connection at the ground being not clean or a bad connection. Check your wiring.
