When should a noisy engine be alarming?

98 GSX Limited and have made some changes but noticed this ski's engine is alot louder than other ski's I have been on. It runs good just seems to make a ton of noise and sounds like something is wrong or is that what I have heard and read is normal?

this probably isn't the answer you were looking for but the rule I use is it should be loud enough to drown out your wife but not too loud to hear your buddy say let's go get a beer or check out the hot babe on that boat.

what kind of changes? pipe and flame arrestors would make it louder. is it a pinging loud, or just slightly louder?

My GSX is louder exhaust wise too. Not in a bad way. Just sounds meaner!!

These are fairly loud machines normally. Especially out of the water. I wouldnt worry too much.
