Whay is an petcock

another word for a valve. usually a quarter turn type valve. sometimes people call the fuel valve a petcock.
 
what petcock are yuo refering to? There really is no adjustment. If you are talking about the fuel valve, you can try cleaning it. What watercraft are you referring to and what is wrong with it?
 
I have a 97 Challenger with a single 787 it ran for about 30 minutes and then would not get over 4500rpms I have done everything I can think of even put the motor in another boat that was running fine and it did the same thing in that boat so I'm just trying to come up with something before I set it on fire.

check out this thread. sounds like you are probably experiencing the gray fuel line problem that we've all had. change fuel lines, clean carbs, fuel selector valve and filter.
