Found this site while poke ing around the web looking into possible problems assoiated with the possible purchase of a '93 Doo Bomb thats been sitting for 10 years.LOL. Am I nuts or what? Anywho, its a possibility cause the owner thinks its gold and quoted me $ 2000.00 selling price. I've since found that even in known running condition its only worth about $ 750.00. So I've gotta enlighten him as to how things depreciate and deteriate over the years thus effecting real world value.

This would be my first pwc so I'm quite new to this sport in that respect. I'm looking forward to the tinkering aspect of getting a used ski but I'm not a masakist(sp?) So hopefully if this deal becomes a reality I'll be posting here for tech help and possibly the name of a good shrink.

Keep it in the green,

2k for a 93 that has been sittting for 10 years is ridiculous.... most I would pay is about 500.. be aware theyll be alot of work to get 'er running right..

That's more like what I was thinking. I'm gonna make him an offer only if I can at least check compression on those giant two cyls.LOL
So how much pep does your Doo have? I'm a 250 pounder and would at least like to get it to plane at some point.

What model is it? My 93 gts is a DOGG... no pep at all.. tops at maybe 30 mph, just good for cruising. Very reliable motor tho... and make sure the compression is 120 or higher, and within 10% of each other... Keep us posted :cheers:

It's a GTS. I think that makes it a 55 hp engine does it not? Maybe I should go with something with more ump.

Oh, same thing I have... not sure on horse, but ik its like 587cc... If u can get a killer deal on it, id say go for it, but otherwise, yea id go for sumthin with a bit more power.... and think, once u get it ull need to clean/rebuild carb, replace grey fuel lines with black ones, clean selector, etc..... id say maybe offer him like $300(assuming compression is good) and if he says no, just walk away..

my .02 :cheers:

:agree: unless it is just a killer deal (which it does not sound like it is going to be) look for something a little newer with a bigger engine; my 96 GTX really get's up and goes with the 787cc rotax;

So like would it be better to just move up to a fuel inj sys? What was the general year period for most brands to go with FI? I know what everybody is gonna say. Don't go with FI cause if it screws up it's a lot harder and usually more expensive to fix. But unless you pack a tool box and many extra parts who the hell fixes these things out on the water?

i would move up to the 787cc engine, like ssmedt said... or even my 95 spi has alot of pep, with with the 587cc (60 hp) beacuse its alot lighter then the gts... the spi will hit 50 an gets there quick
