Yep, Yep, and Yep.... Also have some kind of bailing devise. A must have though is a extra set of spark plugs and the wrench.

a first aid kit (if it's a big ski), and a dry case for any meds you may need.

I get blinding migraines, and I've been caught out at the lake when one has come on, without my meds.

Along the lines of safety... get some good wet shoes so you can jump off into the rocks if you need to. I use to use regular wet booties, but they would fall apart every year. Now I use saddles.

I also like to keep $10 or $20 rolled into a little tube, just in case I need a few bux.

I am typically running in big water with land far off in the distance or out of sight. So...I traded in my old cell phone and got one they say is "waterproof" We'll see. I also have a hand held waterproof VHF and a coffee can that holds registration, wallet, a multi tool, hand wipes/T.P., lighter and a few fishing lures.

You should (or are legally required to) have some sort of sound producing device like a whistle or an airhorn

Any recommendation on where to get these, Doc?

The inner part of my ankles would bleed every time I rode the ski last season (the circular bone part would rub against the body of the ski and eventually rip open)

I don't really want to wear full boots with swim trunks and a vest... but i would like to have at least something on them so they dont bleed

And to add to the problem, i wear size 15/16 shoes so it sucks finding something in my size

yes

agreed; the $10 rubber booties are crap, and fall apart in 1 ride.

I got actual jet ski boots at the world championship this year... won't be till April / May I get to test 'em...

I recently bought these:
http://www.watercraftsuperstore.net/Mens-PWC-Riding-Shoes/402BT002.html

They sell several kinds of shoes/boots there.

I think you are going to have a hard time finding something in a 15/16 though.

You may want to tape up your ankles in the meantime with some athletic tape to prevent the bleeding until you find a boot/shoe that works for you.

I bought a couple pair of "Body Glove" boots... they sucked, and they weren't the $10 wal-mart booties.

This is what I wear now. I don't know if they will protect your ankles... but they are comfy for all day at the water.

I think I got them at pay-less shoes. They lasted for about 10 years now !!!!

I have a retractable "paddle" that I keep with me when riding. Never know when you may break down all alone out there.

Yup... I forgot about that. I have a retractable paddle in the boat and my bigger ski. Highly recommend one if you have the room.

Retractable paddle (Walmart, about $14), a PWC anchor (and rope, of course... don't be beaching your hull!), 2 extra ropes for tying up at docks, PWC dock bumpers, a whistle lanyard (required by most states I believe), and a 3-pack of flares (never know when you'll suck up a rope some idiot left floating in the lake and be unable to get back to the docks on your own... been there, done that with my jetboat). Also a small medical pack never hurts, something with bandages and ointment. Obviously a fire extinguisher (required!).

Those are the basics in each of my watercraft.

What'cha buying?

Oh VERY important: A frisbee! :-D

Checklist reply

As well as the stuff previously mentioned,I have a few things for the list.
Plastic zip ties(hope they are called the same in the states)loose wiring etc.
2 stubby screwdrivers ( _ & X )
Some plastic electrical tape
Small plastic bags with the presslock closing along the top
8,10,12mm ring/openend spanner
An LED handheld torch that has a handle to wind for recharghing
A stainless steel hand mirror about 4x3 inches for emergency signaling
This stuff all fits in a Tupperware container. It has a watertight seal. It's light and doesn't scratch anything

My RXT has a SeaDoo toolkit that's strapped to the underside of the rear seat, contains screwdriver and spanners and plyers. I think that's standard and included with all new PWC's by SeaDoo, isn't it?

This actually is a very good thread!!! I was just going through my front storage bin and found the prev owner had one of those big red inflatable help banners in there.
