Drive shaft protector.

Don't need it... Take it off... it will run better without it.

I did notice that since the piece broke off that engine cavitates less, does this sound right?

just cut it off from underneath , , and the next time you might have the shaft out you can get the rest if you want , but no need to go threw the trubble , , just cut it off , you dont need , and they do work better . .

Yea I was wondering the same thing. I have 2 of them and the "horn" part thats closest to the impeller has broken off, I was going to get 2 new ones but if you guys are saying cut/break them off then I guess I will do that. It looks like they are snug though as they go through the hull, what keeps water coming in if you take the shaft protector completely out?

Thanks for the info guys, cut off the remaining shaft protector that was visable. Need to take out it out for a test run, maybe this weekend. :cheers:
