What is the max rpm for a 97 Gsx

Hi can anyone tell me what the max rpm should be for a 97 gsx, when have it running out of the water the first half of the throtle is responsive but when i give it full throtle it feels like it flouds and blows a fair bit of smoke, When i took it for a test ride it seamed to run ok (it felt a litle slugish of the line dont know if that is normal as it is my first ski) its max rpm was 5500 with wot Is this normal for this jet ski, It sounded like it was fireing properly, Any help very much apeciated

:agree: I had a similar issue on my xp, cleaned the raves and noticed that one of them was actually upside down (the slide was). Cleaned them up and reinstalled them properly and made a huge difference.

my 97 GSX runs about 6700 or 6800 at top speed, seems to be the norm I think. :cheers:

thanks guys! I cleaned up the rave valves and also rebuild the presure controll valve on the exhaust and took it for another spin Wow! what a diffrence i neerly come off the back lol
