HI,

I know of a good condition ( mechanically and cosmetically ) 96 XP 787, but the owner has fried the electrics by connecting the battery wrong way round.

If we strip out the mpem, ign module etc, what are the bare essencials we need to get the ski running. Not interested in getting gauges or VTS ( if it has it ) working. Just want to start and run, and charge the battery.

I have heard of MSD doing a replacement for the mpem, But in simple terms i suppose we need a rectifier, and a way of interpreting the trigger in the magnetto housing to fire the coils. We might have to bin the DESS Lanyard and go ol school with that as well.

On an 800... you need to have an MPEM, a DESS post and key (it has a chip in it) the CDI, and the coil.

MSD doesn't make the stand alone, racing computer anymore... and when they show up on ebay... they are normally very expensive.
