I want to replace my 3/32 oil lines on my 2 - 2000 - GTI's - 717cc. Original equipment lines. What do you use to clamp the lines? Living in an old Industrial area of our country. I bet I can find anything needed to do the job. You name it, I can find it right in my City! What do members use for the clamping job?

In that case, go find the correct size metric tygon tubing and oiteker clamps, exactly the way the factory did them.

We've been using 3/32 b/c it's impossible to find metric and it's really a tight fit so maybe you won't need clamps at all?

I use these special plastic zip ties made specifically for tubing quite a bit, you can probably find them (I hope!). :)

well, I bought the Oetiker clamps. Just how I am... :)

I do like Sporsters' wire ties though. Never seem 'em before. Sportster, tell us where you get 'em?

Make sure to get the black uv rated zip ties from McMaster if you go that route. They are much stronger than regular ones and last longer in harsher environments such as an engine bay.

Hey no fair asking where, that was the challenge Mikirig1 wanted ! :)

Of course our shop keeps all kinds of OEM style clamps and fasteners stocked. I like the Herbie clamps as well, but I think this won't work for the tiny oil lines.

Anyway, this guy sells the tubing zip-ties and price seems reasonable:

And the smallest "size A" Herbie clip only goes to 0.22", tubing OD depends on wall thickness. Herbie clips are here:
