The gentleman rebuilding my motor wants to know if i want this head back on?
He says the stock a stock head would be alot more durable . Would the performance
be worth sacrificing durability? We have a speed boat we take the family out several times a year for a day or weekend. I basically bought this for the kids to ride when we are on the lake with the boat.
thanks

Back in the day.... I ran West Coast heads on a bunch of stuff. The real question is... what size are the head domes?

If you wan't the most reliablillity... then put a stock head on it. Chances are... the domes are smaller than stock, and are raising the compression. That's harder on the engine in the form of heat, and pressure on the crank and rod bearings. Also, it normally will require premium fuel.

I'm not saying that it's a bad head... but it is harder on the engine.
