Weird noise

When I'm slowing down on my 2005 seadoo utopia 205 and put it in neutral it makes a weird squealing noise for about 5 seconds and goes away. Doesn't do it in drive or reverse. What could this be. Drive belt or something in the jet pump?

There is a belt running the alternator... maybe squealing on decel. In the jetpump, if not done recently... you might want to consider checking the gearbox oil level and stator oil levels (for peace of mind).

I just changed the oil 2 rides on the stater and pump. Only took little less then a full quart.

Open engine compartment, speed up, then decel. Have a friend with an ear to the compartment. Kudos

I just changed the oil 2 rides on the stater and pump. Only took little less then a full quart.

If you changed the stator AND gear oil, it should have been about 1.5 quarts.

Stator took just a little less then a quart.
Gearbox was about the same. Little lessthen a full quart. The manual says 19 ounces for pump. Quart is 32 ounces. When you say gearbox you mean stator oil and jet pump oil?

Stator is conical piece that is the end of the boat. The gearbox is , well, a gearbox. A 90 deg. gearset that changes the vertical engine shaft to a horizontal shaft for the pump input.

What frequently happens to the oil in the gearbox gets contaminated with water. The oil can turn sticky and clog the drain holes. The oil cavity will not drain properly and you can end up changing only 1/4 of the oil.

19 oz. (stator) + 27 oz (gearbox) = 46 oz. 46/32=1.44 quarts.

I will pull the vent plug and drain plug again and so it over to make sure. But it did take almost a full quart.

I was getting a squealing noise as well, my belt tensioner looks to be bad, it is not putting enough pressure on the belt. I need help locating a new one. searched the net but can't find a part number or a replacement. Can anyone help me find a belt tensioner & belt for a 04 Seadoo Utopia 205 Se?
or maybe help me with the part number for both?
