what is the weedfree feature for on my '97 speedster? i do not have amanual yet and have no idea what this is for and am half afraid to pull out the lever.:

when u suck up weeds, it gets them out.... i think there kinda like fingers, they pull the weeds out...
wenever u think u have weeds, pull the weed lever, then put 'er in reverse, and move wheel left and right.. should free up the weeds

You have "fingers" that cover the intakes
To keep big objects out. If weeds get in/past you need to expel them. I get going about 10 mph forward, turn hard left and swing the boat around, kill the motors, put in forward (uncovers the jets) and pull the lever (twist clockwise and pull). You should be going backwards and the water should push in through the nozzles and push the weeds out the intake. If not, go swimming and pull it out.
