Wear Ring and Impeller replacement cheat sheet wanted....

This is for my 97 Challenger. I have the manual but I know there was a nice, short write-up or two on here of this procedure that included some helpful tips and tricks. I can't seem to find it. My apologies if my search skills miss the obvious.

I'm thinking of throwing on a skat trak impeller and replacing the wear ring and would like to see some info from the guys who have already done it.

remove pump, remove cone, drain oil from pump, put the flat sided shaft, that runs thru th pump, inna vise, install impellor removal tool into impellor, thats in the pump, turn C.C., to remove impellor, get jigsaw, cut relief cuts into old wear ring, pry out wear ring after relief cuts are made, with flathead screwdriver, install new wear ring, mount new impellor, want to use, atleast blue loctite on threads where impellor twist on at, tighten down impellor, lastly, install oil and cone, and then mount pump back onto boat....:cheers:

Do you need to press the new wear ring in using a special tool?

Thanks. Sounds easy enough....maybe. lol I know someone had mentioned something about putting the new wear ring in the freezer for easier installation as a tip.
