You guys are great!!! Every prob I have have I post it and you guys reply fix the right fix!!! Sooo next problem..... When I try to get up on a plane it's sluggish and slow like pulling a 500 lb anchor...... Till I get on plane then it seems fine but the motor revs up fine plenty of power.... I read some of the threads on here and I think the pump is cavitating around the wear ring? The carbon seal and those parts are new, new solas impeller 14/20 pitch, new jet pump rebuild, new plugs, rebuilt carb. Besides the wear ring what else should I check or replace? Thanks guys you are the best help ever !!!!

How could you have rebuilt the pump and not replace the wear ring??

Thats prob it; also make sure to replace the neoprene ring and seal the pump good.

The other thing it can be is on some machines the sealant that holds the ride plate/pump shoe onto the hull. Its a biatch to do....

Lol I know I know....I'm new to the whole fixing my own Seadoo....haha I know now I should have replaced it!!! It looked ok.....so I left it...note to self!!! Thanks

Ok update.....as long as no one laughs....I just looked at my clearance from my impeller to the wear ring.....hahahaha is an 1/8" to 3/16 bad.....lmao I know it's suppose to be .010 I'm learning I hope this is it.....

As I said...the ride plate glue doesnt fail all that much but it can happen. Sounds like the wear ring.

max clearance should only be 0.040". If you have +0.125" clearance... it sounds like the rubber liner is totally missing. I have re-worked pumps and not changed the ring... but if it's that warn, I would be suspect ALL of your work as being a possible source of cavitation.

As Minnitonka said... you could have an air leak around the ride shoe still. That requires the removal of the shoe, and gluing it back onto the hull.

Since you didn't replace the ring... did you install a new pump gasket when you bolted it back onto the hull?

My suggestion would be to just remove everything, and put it all back together... checking everything as it goes back together.
