I recently purchased a 2005 seadoo challenger, and noticed that water is leaking into the bilge from the grey bumper that goes around the boat. It comes in from the rivets that hold it into place.I was going to remove it and redo the silicon, but can not find rivets that are long enough. Has anyone had this problem or is it normal that some water comes in ?? where can I get rivets long enough. Thanks!

There shouldn't be any water coming in the hull. Try you local hardware store for long aluminum rivets.

Sorry about posting in the wrong topic. I tried the hardware store but they are a little shorter. thanks! Do you have any other suggestions on how to fix this.

cant see longer rivets, fix'n the problem. Run a beed of silicone on inside of rub rail, covering the existing rivets, then re-insert the rail. If that donty help, i'd, unfortunetly, would run a beed on top/bottom using clear silicone, of the rub rail bracket

Try looking on line to hardware companies for longer rivets. If you order from most internet companies, you might have to meet a minimum order like a box of 100 or something...locals would just sell you a few for the job. Rivets leave no head as it is a flush kinda mount. Without seeing it, you could try using pure silicone in a tube to seal it.
