Water in hull question

Hi,

I am a first time PWC owner (used 2003 GTi LE). Came back from my first time tacking it out and while cleaning, I noticed I had about maybe 1/2 inch of water inside the hull. Not ALL in the hull, just where it would normall pool in the middle. Tried to tip up the PWC to get water out, but was not succesful. So left the water in there. Is this an issue that the water is there and is it an issue that I left it there?

Thanks for any advise,
Eric

I wouldn't worry too much if it's only 1/2" of water, depending on how aggressively you ride you will get water in the hull, the bailers will only get so much out. Don't tip the ski to get the water out you'll run the risk of capsizing it.

If you are concerned you could add a bilge pump, I have one in mine but I will leave my ski in the water for sometimes a week or more at a time. If you only use it for the day I wouldn't bother. Even a bilge pump is not going to get 100% of the water out of the hull.

When you put the ski back on the trailer remove the plug, the hull will probably be dry when you get home.

I did ride with the plugs open on the ride home and still had a little water. So I guess that proves even more to your point that it's no big deal (since it's so little that it won't come out during the ride home). As far as tipping the jet ski - I tipped up the front on the trailer when I got home - water was still there. So like you said, shouldn't be an issue.
