Water coming out of head...

Other than a shot o ring, what could possibly be a reason for water exiting from the head? I was flushing the ski, started it first, did a half turn of water pressure from the hose and water started coming out of the head. Do i need to lubricate anything to prevent this incident from damaging the engine? It still starts and runs normally so I know the engine isn't flooded I just don't want to ruin it by trying to maintain it.

1997 gsx. I recently got it at an auction so I am slowly finding out what the previous owner did and didn't do.

I took it apart and the best explanation I can give is the leak is coming out from underneath the head cover and cylinder head itself. Towards the front of the ski. I cleaned and reinstalled the big o ring from the head cover and greased the (square) o ring that surrounds the forward piston and still is leaking and it is giving me a runaway noise. If that makes sense. I'll give it a lil gas and it seems the rpms don't want to come down. What i have found weird about seadoos is the oring for a gasket instead of the traditional type gasket. Thanks for your help

I was also thinking that maybe I should just get the top end kit from sbt. Not the cylinder exchange but the cheaper one that comes with new pistons rings and gaskets. Do you think that will help my compression issue too?

I had previously posted my compression readings were 122 and 120. There is some carbon buildup on top of the piston. Will the buildup cause a loss in compression? Bad o ring causing loss of compression? That is what was from a previous post.
