Before you go crackn open the wallet....

Tell us about your ski. Orriginal owner?...ever rebuilt the sc?...at least had washers changed?

And finally...how fast do you want to go?

The bike is bone stock haven't touch the bike besides regular maintances...im doing the complete rebuild on the SC in the next week...IT WAS very babied by this girl it looks show room all the way thru it...i want it to run with other bikes just don't want to be the slowest one on the lake...

how many hours does it have? showroom clean dont mean engine parts need to be changed! well as is your 215 RXT already runs pretty quick and to be honest not everyone has Stage kits in their seadoo's id say 98% of people have stock ski's you will be keeping up just fine. and where do you get the name "bike" for a seadoo, thats a first to me. call it a "ski"

LOL Thanx RON it has 107HRS on it and on the bike thing just picked it up i guess but i got you on that one (ski) does sound better, but if thats all i need is that stage kit well it will be ordered but the one thing i got to ask is it alot of trouble to put all that on.i mean i can work on about anything, I ordered a shop manual monday it should be here tomm i hope so i can take out the SC....

yea at 107 its still on original washers she's due for a rebuild! and yea all the guys here call them ski's haha. as for the kit, yea your best of with the RIVA stage 1 kit! and yes you can do it yourself! if you are mechanically inclined and have worked with engines is do able! as for the supercharger, yes a shop manual is required!

Soon as i get the SC out I'm sending it off what do you think of that are him rebuilding it, heard he was good at what he does a least thats what i here on the forum.

You won't be dissapointed.

Personally...I wouldn't waste my time, effort and money on a stage 1 kit...no offense to anyone.

The biggest improvement for any ski is the air intake. Look up Fizzle if you don't wanna fab your own. If you're gonna rebuild what sc you got...well sht...you really don't wanna go that much faster. You can buy a used x wheel and rebuild your exsisting innerds for just a bit more....a used 14/19 and you'll be smoking most of what's out there. Throw on a Riva grate...maybe a wedge to help get that couch outa the water a bit more. Wanna go faster still?....ad an ex ic and some more fuel...you'll be walking away from just about everyone except those with more go fast goodies. All w/o breaking the bank....say less than 2K.

I never understood the desire to walk when what I really wanted to do was run. And as long as the first coupla steps kept me heading in the right direction and not flat on my face...so much the better.

Meaning...as long as the part you put on now, will not only help now, but be there when you're done modding....you won't have over stepped.

YA i heard GH was the man thats why im sending mine to him but on all that other stuff u said you lost me I'm new at this so is their anyway you can break it down in a newbie way? because i need some help just want my SKI to run with MOST stock skis because i no they have a lot more HP these days...and I'm hoping i get it from here....

Your ski will already run with most out today......including any non modified x-boats. They'll get there a lil quicker...but top end will still be close.

Tell you what....one thing is obvious...you haven't run the ski. Get the oem sc rebuilt and reinstalled....clean up the plate and fill all the holes.

First warm weather...take her for a run. When you actually get that seat of the pants feel for what you bought...get back to us.

:)

^ aha so true! take her for a spin man 215 are real fast stock as it is, but on my end! my rxp is gonna have a stage 1 kit! i really like that air intake noise and the new intake grate plus the few extra a mph at the top end! :) will let you know how that goes once i get it done!

btw, is it just the air intake that makes that whistle sound?

What you're hearing is the sc whine through the intake hose/tube. The riva is a 3" tube, ends basically in front of the motor. Fizzle's is a 4" (much greater volume of unrestricted air than the Riva) and runs farther forward....some actually run it all the way up in front of the seat under the glove box air opening.

I have a 5" rear air set up...people on the beach can hear my sc whine....as long as they can get past the sound of my free-flo exhaust...heh.

so i have a stock RXP right now, what should i do, change the stock intake tube to a 4" fizzle? in the stage 1 kit its the air intake that looks like a car air intake is that correct?

...ooops....yeah..it's the "j" shaped plastic tube.

Riva is one of the forerunners of bolt on mods for our skis....but they missed the boat on this. A Fizzle 4" front is a much better air intake system than the Riva's 3"...which is again better than the restrictive oem system. Before fizzle put his together for sale many of us scrounged all the parts seperately for our own DIY set-up. A lot of aggrivation and time savings was made when he put them all together in a single package.

Look at the stage kits...break down the parts in each....look what they actually do and how much they would all cost seperately.

If the intake, grate, wedge and prop are the big ticket items in the stage 1 kit....could you just get those items seperately...maybe used or not...for less?

I'm betting you can.

so youre saying that riva has a legit complete kit thats is good but instead of a 4" its a 3" as well your saying that it would be cheaper for me to buy all the parts separately? if i just want a complete kit, what i wanna know is if i should buy the riva kit and then a fizzle 4" to replace the riva 3" air intake :) that simplifies things for me!

Damn....putting my neck on the line here...lemme do some checkn...brb

Okay...in the 15min I've been gone I found....

Fizzle's 4" front for $180....new
2* wedge.................$60.....used
Riva grate................$75.....used
a 15/20..................$160....used (I went 15/20...because a 14/19 is only a half step up on an rxp)

total...............$475?

Your question...'should you shell out $750 for a "kit"..and then another $150 for a better intake?'

You'll have to make up your own mind.

i think the smart thing to do.... is buy the stage 1 kit from riva... install everything, but then swap out their 3" intake for the fizzle 4" and voila!!!
