The other day when I was out riding my VTS quit working and is stuck all the way down for some reason, not sure why because I rarely use the bottom half. I took the cover off the black box and started it on the hose and tried to move it up and down and all there is is a click when I move it up or down. Is there a way to manually position it in one set spot without using the button? Want to ride tomorrow but it's impossible to move at an idle with the way it is now. I'd be happy with it all the way up, or any position rideable. Thanks for the help

That was a very good read but where or is there a fuse box somewhere that all these fuses are located? It just clicks wether the button is pushed up or down. Is there any quick fix to put it max up? I just want it rideable for my day off. Thanks for any advice.

What i did was remove the nut holding the linkage to the prop and then backed off the nut and screwd in or out the adjusting rod untill i got the prop even and then rebolted the linkage back to prop. I have not had any problems. But i know if i fix the problem i will need to strt all the adjustments from scratch. Hope this helps.

I looked at the linkage and it appears that there isn't enough adjustment to get it to a neutral position. I would like to check the fuses I read about in the article but I'm not sure where they are located. Is there a box somewhere where they are located? Thanks for the help.

Yes, they are in the same electrical box the MPEM is in. In the 97 and up models it is in the nose of the hull. I am not sure which models you have though.

So I found the fuse box and the 7.5 amp fuse was blown. I had hope for a minute but after I put the spare fuse in, as soon as I plugged the key in the VTS motor began to to run and was trying to force the nozzle down even farther but it just bounced up and down and made a clicking noise. The VTS motor would actually stop running when I pushed the button but when I let go it would start again and run until it blew the fuse. Has anyone had this problem? It's hard to figure it out by reading the article as there are so many combinations of situations and seems like none of them match mine. I know it's a long shot but anyone ever experience this situation? It wouldn't bother me to not have VTS but the way it is now I can't even ride it.

How hard is it to change out the "black box"? I have two identical 98 xp's and was thinking maybe I could swap the boxes atleast to get it moved up so it's rideable and then put the broken one back in to hold it there, not really sure how the system works or if there is an easier way to manually move it and keep it in one spot. I really need to get this thing going, the other ski runs good but my girlfriend won't let me go if she can't come so I'm s.o.l. Until my problem is fixed. Thanks for the help!

Have you opened the black box the VTS system is in to make sure there is no water in there?

Can't you just unplug the wiring harness from the VTS? If so, When the nozzle gets to the location about midway (or just above), press and hold your switch so it stops and then unplug the module.

Yes I did take the cover off and there wasn't any water in the box. When the key is plugged in the VTS motor runs but just tries to force the nozzle down farther but it's as low as it can go, I think that's why it jumps and makes a clicking noise. Any other ideas of how I can get it into a rideable position? Thanks for the help.
