You can get a rare earth magnet and use JB weld to hold it in.

I have a deep socket that fits the nut. Pump is still on but housing is off. Did oil change on it yesterday.

I went to harbor freight and found some magnets for $2. Works perfect!

Also got a 33 deep socket. Works great.
