I added this stuff a few weeks back but just finally got to take some pics today. I added a voltmeter to the dash. I put it in the place of the factory lighter plug. I then moved the lighter plug down. I wanted to add LED's to the interior of the boat, so I put the power switch to the lights on the opposite side of the dash to balance it out. Turned out pretty good I think.

Looks sweet I must say.... Cant wait till my boat looks like that. I want to add a in dash digital depth finder but i wonder what would be the best way to install the transducer? Any ideas?

Do a search. I havent done one yet but a few others have done them. Good luck. If you wanna do any of the stuff i have done, I will gladly answer questions.

Hehehe i ordered that very one from that guy yesterday... just have to figure out where the bset place and best way to install the transducer.

RFoster, would you mind please reposting the link for your LED light seller (cabin LED's)? I saw it in another post but can't find it now that you got me jonesing for these.

My wife isn't thinking too highly of you right now.

Thanks RF, cool site. Nice that no transformer is needed for the strips. Did you convert any existing cabin bulbs over to red or just leave 'em?

I have thought about switching the white cabin lights, just havent done it yet. I may over the winter. I just used 7 of the 4 chip superflux lights. I bought 10 of them, so I will probably put the other 3 somewhere too. I still might do the lights below the water line to light up the wake, I havent decided yet.

Finally back on the forum for a sec! I want the depth sounder but have no place to put one on the dash. I will probably go with the small surface mount depth sounder made by hawkeye. I have only had one chance this summer to use my LED lights..so that was a ton of work for the few chances I've actually been able to use them...

Thats my main reason for not adding the wake LED's. I dont go out at night hardly at all., But they sure look awesome for those rare times I might be out.

True very true! just never on the water at night it seems.. Oh and the windscreen on my drivers side ..the plastic piece that pops up has come off. I need to find a new one! Bugs will plaster your face at night without that piece..

Wow im shocked your windscreens actually had the wind deflector. Mine were both missing when I got it. Almost all the boats I see like ours is missing them. I dont even know if you can find them anywhere. If you do, let me know.

I have a Humminbird 200DX fish/depth finder. I mounted the transducer on the port side of the plug. I have mine just a hair above the bottom of the hull. Then run the wire up the starboard side up to the gauge in the dash. It worked at WOT(wide open throttle) in fairly rough conditions yesterday. My buddy had one of that model on his Baja that went 70mph and it worked at WOT also, so i think thats a good one. Supposedly they make one(transducer) that you can put in the storage locker(epoxy it to the floor) which was my original plan but my transducer wasn't set up to mount that way. That I and I think the hull maybe too thick for that. I was pretty shocked at how shallow some of the areas i was running in were..

Also, Hey Foster what are the part numbers of the running lights in the back on the floor??Thanks

You talking about the stock interior lights? I looked at the online parts catalog, and I cant seem to find them. I have seen the same lights in other makes of boat though, so maybe they are something you can find at a place like west marine, or somewhere online.

$10 on ebay with free shipping. Look up item 350385321303 for one currently running. The black bezel was extra. I think i found them in a 4 pack for like 10 bucks. I dont need the extra 3, so if ya need one let me know and I will hook ya up.

will do Rfoster if i can find the plastic piece that sticks up on the compartment hatches..it really makes a difference on the passengers side, so i would like to get one on the driver side as well!

Depth Sounder

Rfoster .. I really need a depth sounder now, but where could we mount the gauge with no realestate left on our dashes? The other day I went thru an area that turned out to be around 8-12 inches deep doin about 50 mph. we didn't drag, but it would have been nice to have known how shallow it was becoming beforehand. The only thing I can find that might work is a small surface mount LCD display for PWC made by Hawkeye..

Its all in this thread. Buy the lights from Oznium. You can get 10 of them and a switch for under $40. Drill a 3/8 hole in each cupholder. Drop the light in with a few drops of super glue or expoxy around the rim. Wait for them to dry and then wire them up. LED are drawing very low amount of power...like milliamps. So you can run the positive from almost anywhere. I spliced off the same wire I used for the voltmeter. It was the wire for the factory lighter plug. Then just run all the wires from a switch to them. Voila, you now have super cool lights.

Well RFoster I put in a second Optima Blue battery in the same location you put your second batt. I went ahead and tried the battery combiner which I kinda regret because I had to rewire my stereo and all accessory power wires over to the left side of the boat so that they could power from the second battery. Basically the combiner seperates the two batts when voltage from the alternator, or house charger is not available or the common voltage is below 13.4, or 13.3 i believe. I got my depth sounder put in as well along with two more Polk Tweeters. All in all I have been working about three-four hours a day for the past week doing all this... The Perko Switch would have been the way to go labor wise..whew...Oh I had a 5.25 Polk go out as I mentioned before, so I'm trying to see if anyone has just one available on different audio forums.. I kinda got the ind knocked out of my sails on the subs when I saw that they had gone up from 50 shipped last year to 80 now for the same thing..For some reason Crutchfield Audio list regular Kicker Comps as marine certified if you look on their website, but I'm thinking that may be a typo on their end...???.. May just wait until you upgrade if you decide to, and get your hand me down subs:cheers:

I got my depth finder installed.. should work well
