2000 Seadoo XP 947 type engine. 951 cc

For three years the ski has been being repaired.

in 2006 the ski got very hot and overheated due to a water inlet hose coming off while riding. melted a hole in plastic container over engine.

2008 it seized up and died while riding.

Installed new pistons and rings in jug.

Put everything back together last night, hooked it up to hose and started it. revved very high and got up to 7 grand. cut the kill switch right away.

started the ski again and it idled slow and then died, went to start it again and its seized up and wont turn over.

opened hatch while running it on hose and water leaking from exhaust to manifold. It was put back together with the torque sequence and everything by the book.

Have oil block off kit installed and oil was mixed in with gas.

What happened? Any advice would be much appreciated!

You shouldn't have seized the engine that fast, and without a load on it.

Are you sure you didn't fill the engine with water?

I dont think so at all, everything was hooked up right, no water could have gotten in the engine. im just wondering why it reved to 7000, normal out of water and on hose should be 3000. right now i cant crank it over, it trys but wont fully rotate over. ????? i need help, i wanna ride so bad.

Pull out the spark plugs and try to crank it you prob have a air leak that's why the engine shot up to 7k rpm double check the throttle cable first and then u might wanna start looking for a air leak

Yep... pull the plugs, and crank it to make sure there isn't any water in the engine.

If it's clear... put a compression gauge on it, and check the engine.

Runaway can happen with a 2-stroke... so yes... you could have an air leak, but more likely, you just have the carbs set up wrong.
