I am wondering if any of you guys have a resource out there on the interwebz that explains very basic mechanics of a jet ski engine and how all the components and parts work together. I know generally how it all works individually but not sure how it all works together.

Thanks for any help for my n00bness.

No youtube access here from work... boo... will watch when I get home. I just want a good visual representation on how to determine issues and from that a place to start when troubleshoting. I know how a two stroke engine works, I understand the carburator, I understand how the impeller works, etc. I just want to see it all work together, and get maybe a visual tour of how it all works together.

I did not even think of youtube, thanks for posting that, that is prolly exactly what I was looking for.

in the how-to section there is a "how a 2-cycle engine works" thread, you might start there.

Just watched the video in the link...it just shows the basics on how a two stroke works. Probably not worth your time from what you say. I too would like the same as you are asking. I know how the two stroke operates, how carbs function, but I would like an explination of how and when and why the raves open when they do as well as how the water regulator dumping water in the exhaust pipe helps this and how it all meshes together to give you a fun day on the water.

well sorry guys.....the original post was pretty vague

Your right it was, my apologizes for that. I wasnt really sure what I was asking until I thought about it a little more. Summer is right on with what I am looking to find out.
