Hello, I have a 2004 utopia 185 that has a cleat on the port side by the glove box that the backing plate has come off the bolts. Is there any way to acess the back side of the cleat via the glove box to fix this? Thanks

Parts....

Looking at the manual and the parts layout, it looks like the backing plate is an integral part of the hull. In other words, when you order a new cleat, you don't get the backing plate. So, that means it is suppose to be embedded in the fiberglass somehow. Or some kind of heavy epoxy holding it tight.

As for accessing it. Rookie101 may have an idea.

Removing the glove box wont get you where you need to be. You need to remove the seat back in the bow. Just gently pull straight up on the seat and it will release, you can see the clips that hold it on in the pictures below.

As far as it being attached, any good epoxy should do the trick as once the cleat is tight there is no way for it to go anywhere.
