Trying to order a pump rebuild kit...

I bought a 98 GTX 951 pump housing for my 00 XP 951 and am trying to order a rebuild kit for the 98 housing, why are the part numbers and price different for the 98 over the 00 housing? Also I cannot find out any info on if this will even work on my ski as the 98 housing does not have the spring and plastic peice in the cone like my 2000 does. The part number off the 98 housing is 271 001 363 but here is the kicker, it has a 2005 date stamped in the housing!!! Both housings have different part numbers too. Someone help me out, I got the bearings out and am ready to order. Here are the pics, the 00 housing has the shaft in it, the 98 is empty along with the pic showing "05" on the 98 housing, the housing is supposedly from a 1998 GTX 951. I am pretty sure this rebuild kit will work for the 98 housing even tho is does not say 98, just need someone who works on these to confirm it- http://www.pwcperformanceparts.com/servlet/the-385/SeaDoo-Jet-Pump-Rebuild/Detail

The spring in the cone is a updated design for antirattel it keeps a load on the bearings as for the bearing kit I'm not sure

Sorry man I dont have an answer on this...all I know is the 97.5 GSXL had a super weird pump none of the others had.

The anti rattle cone is prob not the difference. The part numbers could be different b/c one pump was brass, and the other was all plastic.

SBT shows a kit specific to the 98 GTXL and XPL, a kit for 99 GSXL and XPL, and another for all the others.

Hopefully I can run into a few more 951 parts machines this summer to see the differences.

Pics added, both are plastic. I have tried to order pumps off seadoowarehouse.com for 98,99,00,01 and 02 (951 ski's) and the part number are different for all of them!!!!

Ok after doing some more research I cam across this site http://www.seadoosource.com/jetpumpkits.html and after looking at the differences between kit 2 and 3 it seems like the only difference is the thrust bearing, bearings are the same, the thrust bearing I pulled out of the "98" housing is the same exact one that came out of my 00 housing but the 98 housing had some LIGHT metal chaffing where the thrust washer sits, maybe that was just from the little bit of water that got in there. Anyone think ill be ok to get kit #3 and run it? Thanks
