Any thoughts on what may be wrong??
We have a 2009 challenger with only 50 hours on it. It is having trouble getting to top speed, takes a lot longer and when u push throttle ahead it revs really high, so we have to go really slowly now to get to top speed... any thoughts? When it does finally get up there its fine. ( only happens when pulling tubes or wakeboarder)

It sounds like a wear ring may be toast or damaged impeller or both. Could also be a carbon seal but I'd check the first two since they are easier to repair and replace.

Ok thanks, will check impeller and carbon seal. Wear ring was just replaced a month ago. Thanks for ideas :)

Keep in mind though if you sucked something up and damaged the impeller you most likely damaged the wear ring too. Doesn't matter when it was replaced. I've replaced one before and the very next day sucked up a stick and destroyed it. It happens

Whats ur thoughts on somthing called the collet ring? Was talking to a friend and thats what they mentioned, but they said it will be really expensive to fix.

If I'm not mistaken that goes over the carbon seal. Sometimes you may be able to tighten it and "fix" the problem. However it's more of a band aid fix then a temporary one. If that's the case then the carbon seal will need to be replaced in the future. Again assuming I'm correct lol
