Trouble starting 2013 GTI SE 130

I have two 2013 GTI SE 130s and one starts up on the first crank and the other takes two or three cranks. I have swapped batteries so I know that is not the issue. The exact starting issue is it has trouble with the first crank and pauses for a half second or so and then cranks again and starts on the second one. It seems that it has trouble turning over initially. Has anyone else had this same issue and if so how did you fix it. Thanks.
