I've gone through the stickied impeller guide and saw that the 155.5mm ST-CD 10/16 is the preferred impeller. I ordered it from Solas (Amazon) seen here. I was having some work done to the ski since I just bought it and took the impeller to the guy who said the impeller didn't fit at all. I returned it and am now hoping to replace the impeller myself. The question is, there is so much conflicting information out there on which impeller to buy. SOLAS has a guide seen here that recommends the 155.5mm impeller mentioned earlier as well as a 140mm SF-CD-15/23 impeller. Should I get that one? With this damaged impeller I'm only going 40mph.

Your ski in the picture uses the 155mm pump. The ST-CD 10/16 is what Solas calls for. I would pull the pump yourself as it is an easy job and the impeller sometimes comes with the tool.

The SF 15/23 is good for the stock engine: Sea-Doo SOLAS 720 / 800 Impeller 15/23 SF-CD-15/23

Which ever you decide, we will beat Amazon's price at www.pwcmuscle.com ordering from there also helps support the forum :thumbs-up: just message us to price match!

Are you sure on those numbers @hfgreg? The 2001-2005 GTi is the largest hull they ever put the 720 in and struggles as it is and is why the Solas spec's the low 10/16 prop. I am pretty sure when you go to the 15/23 it is going to be too tall.

And the SF is for the 140mm pump, his is the 155.

Any reason why that guy could have said it wasn't compatible when I purchased it the first time? I bought this used and I'm pretty sure the engine was replaced. Could that have an effect?

^ ahh, thats correct the 01 came in 140 and 155.5 I just had the wrong pump size for you. Solas Sea-Doo 720 / 800 Impellerr 10/16 ST-CD-10/16

The 01' GTI was a mess as far as badging goes and creates a lot of confusion as you could get the old hull design GTI 1997-2001 (720 w/ 140mm pump) and the new larger hull design GTI 2001-2005 ( 720 w/ 155mm pump) and they were both a 2001 GTI.

That explains a lot. It's been pretty confusing. I appreciate yours and @hfgreg's help!

An update, I purchased the impeller that @hfgreg recommended and it is a perfect fit. However, I forgot to regrease the impeller/bearing so I'll have to take it back apart and do that. What else to I need to regrease/oil besides the cone?
