So I searched the forum and didnt see much on here about fixing the trim gauge. My trim works just fine I just have to feel how the ski is riding to figure out what level its trimmer at. Any suggestions on making this thing roar back to life? Also my speedo doesn't work either. I dont care too much about that one but if I can fix it that would be cool too.

Ive got a 95 xp just sitting right now. That one should work correct? Im thinking ill just snag that one up and put it in my 96.

When I bought "The Trim Fix" I splurged a little extra for "The Gauge Fix". It was a little magnet that I glued on the inside and then a sensor that went on the outside of the VTS box with silicone adhesive. As the adhesive gets tacky it will hold itself while you run the trim up and down to make sure that it is lined up with the gauge. This would only be an option if your gauge was working of coarse.

I would check to make sure the magnet is IN the sliding block! I changed a whole vts unit because I never realized the magnet was gone!!! The magnet is what tells the guage to work. When the magnet is not there the vts works and the guage does not which was my case... Check it out!

What is a sliding block??

Yeah I'm not really sure what the sliding block and magnet for the trim are?? And how do I unplug my gauge and test if it works?

Sliding block, it has a magnet on the inside of the bump out, sometimes they rub and fall out. It attaches to the worm gear that is behind the motor.
