Top end kit

I lost compression on my mag side cylinder. I may have gotten bad gas. Started up fine and ran fine then turned it off. Went to start and it wouldn't start, then it started and idled rough and would run only up to about 5800 rpms. Finally it just would idle or run. Pulled plugs and noticed mag plug was black and pto plug was nice in color. Change plugs and still same no idle or start. Pulled plugs and stuck my finger over mag plug hole and it had no compression, pto side popped it off hard. What would cause this? What kit is the best to get?

Could be a lack of oil, or a lean run. Cant tell until you pull it apart.

Well i pulled it apart and the mag piston ring(bottom) broke and bounced around and finally imbedded into the piston. There are marks on the head. The place that is melted on the piston is right smack where the rave valve is, right where the ring broke. What would have caused this? Could bad gas have done this? Now my other question is, can i just do a top end? Meaning new sleeves and such or do i have to tear it all apart and clean and inspect the bottom end? Is my head fine or do i have to replace it due to the indents? Where is a great place to buy a top end kit? On a side note, it would start up and idle fine then die but once you gas it gas it shut down. All input would be appreciated.
