Hey Guys,

So I bought this sweet Sony head unit.

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-WdS8ZX80QX2/p_158H905IP/Sony-CDX-H905iP.html

It's very durable, it's built nice, over all I think it's just a great unit.

I have an 01 Utopia and the unit slides into the slot that is located under the passenger dash compartment. My problem is the head of the unit is too big (that's what she said) and when it's in the slot the faceplate does not flip down so I can't put any CD's into it because it's so big.

So my question is should I sell this and get a smaller one or should I mount it on the outside of the compartment where the handle is and mount an inverter in the old slot? Is having an inverter something that people find handy or is it a waste? I'm just curious so see peoples feedback and also if anyone else has installed an inverter. Thanks!

When I was looking for a head unit, that ws one of the ones I was considering. The size is what kept me from getting it though. I had a normal size hole already in the boat. It is paid for so I would see if I could make it work without looking to bad. On the inverter issue though, I dont really see much use for an inverter, but its your boat and you can do whatever you want.

I'm just looking for something to stick in that empty hole if I'm going to be making a new one is all. An inverter was the first thing I thought of.
