Ok, my starter has been giving me grief. The brushes are worn out completely, and the commutator is pitted. Should I buy a new starter from seadoo? Should I buy one on ebay? Or should I go to the local hardware or auto store and buy brushes and make them fit? I can't justify spending $9 on shipping and handling for a $12 set of brushes from the parts catalog. I found a starter on ebay, here's the link...

Is that something that would work? I really can't justify the $200+ for a starter from seadoo, and even if I could, I deliver pizzas for a living, so there's no money in my pockets. What should I do?

I'll Take a Large mushroom, onion and green peppers delivered...I tip good.
Seriously, see I'd look for a local alternator, starter shop can do a rebuild for you for cheap. I get mine rebuilt here for like $25.00.

That might be the route I end up going. If I can get it rebuilt for $25, that's $3 more than buying the brushes and doing it myself, plus maybe they'll do a warranty on it. Who knows, I'll start calling around tomorrow to find an alternator/starter place. I think I know of one about 45 minutes from here, so I'll start there. Thank you!
