Hi all,

The 99 gtx ltd has been great!
However intermittently it drops in revs to 4800 rpm at wot ( spoken about on other threads).

FULLY rebuilt 951, carbs done and fuel lines replaced, have checked rectifier all ok!! Done Augsut 09 about 10 hours use. Have replaced spark plugs too.

Noticed last time on the lake that throttle cable seemed loose so I tucked my thumb between the cable lever and pressed down on the exposed cable.
PRESTO up she jumped to 7000rpm and I went thru a whole tank of fuel...ran great all day!!

The question I have is have many of you guys ever had any issues with throttle cables going loose?

And could the electronics coming off the cable effect the timing, as mentioned in the manual I.e at 80% to full power?

In other words does this cable ever muck up?

possible your jam nut came loose/cables' stretch...either way, you should look into it further.

thanks

Cheers. thanks for the help have checked it out and will go to adjusting the cable. Do you know how to do it??
