Thread sizes for taps

Hey guys I have a 96 GTI 717 motor and I’m wondering what size the threads For the cylinder head bolt and the cylinder bolt to the case are ? I know they’re M8 but what’s the thread pitch is it 1.25 ? I know it’s in the manual probably but I don’t have it with me I’m trying to buy a set of taps to clean out the cases thank you for your help

take out one bolt and check it at the hardware store or Napa...Match it up to a new metric bolt at the hardware store to be sure...easy to do...I believe they are the 1.25 pitch..

Ya, thanks I was at the store buying taps when I posted and I didn’t bring a bolt with me. I just bought a whole set of metric taps and dyes.
