Perfect water, first thing AM Lake Chelan, WA. She is running SO sweet right now. Its the first time that EVERYTHING is working which means something catastrophic is about to happen.

Now if I could just get my teenager to float out there, untie it and bring it to the dock.

I thought this was a thread about the wife not knowing you bought another seadoo.....

Looks like it's listing to one side and about to sink, better go crank it up and run it around to "get the water out".

Lololol! I kid you not, I am paranoid about water coming in while sitting, but I can look in the bilge after 3 days and there won't be a drop in there, but every time my son checks, he claims it is taking in water and that he has to "get the water out". I fall for it everytime.

Funny you should say that, I always worry about my 98 GSXL the same way, usually never a drop in it, came out to it on Sunday and the back end was under water

I had to swim it over to the trailer, drain it, fire it up with the plugs out (only a little water came out) dry the plugs.. then took it for a nice long 2 hour abusive ride to make sure the water was all evaporated

Do you still have a white engine in your limited?

Negative. It has been transformed to silver. Carb setup and everything else that goes with that.

Awesome..

Before the 98 GSXL I have now, I had 2 white engine ones.. One completely grenaded at 140 hours, the other started leaking water from multiple areas (holes in the exhaust pipe, and one in the cyl head, no gaskets leaking lol) and it would start to sink on the 5 minute ride through the no wake zone

My L is up to 126 hours, we will see how it holds up!

Have fun out there

I have been blessed. Not taking on a drop. I still want to copy Lou's bilge pump setup. Maybe go with the factory one and bracket if I can come up with one.

I have to say, if you really want to see how fast your ski is, put your fearless 115 pound teenager on it. The 100 pound discount does wonders for it. He can hang well with a fat guy on an Ultra 250 that slowly pulled away from me. Proud papa moment.

OldSchool! So true, my ski gained 3mph top speed putting my scrawny 130lb friend on it.. Lake nacimiento at 8 pm, hardly anyone out, mostly glass water - we strapped on the GPS and went out I took the 96 she took the limited, we go west in the channel just to turn around and take the mile long straightway through the channel back east

Long story short halfway through the mile, I'm on the GSx, standing on the back of it trying to get every last mph, I look back to see why the limited isn't passing me yet..

Suddenly closes the gap and passes me, turns out my ski scared her and she was barely over half throttle til she got bold.. She hit almost 65 mph in perfect conditions, stock GSx ltd that I know of (cyl head has def been off and it might have a prop)

My 96 hit almost 57 ;)

Pretty close. Kid hit 65.1 per his phone. I have video of it which I will post, just a little more RPMs for the meat stick than it makes with me.

I made it. Somehow, I made the entire week without any sort of mechanical problem with teens riding my GSXL for 8 days straight.

I did get a low oil light, so being stubborn about using XPS 2, I drove round trip 60 miles to get it. That is my doing for thinking I had enough. Other than that, it was 50 gallons of fuel and smooth sailing.

I knew that if I brought an extra prop, plugs, zip ties and all the tools I would not need them.

You guys are having WAY TOO MUCH FUN! :)

Have you ever found a drop or two of water in your fuel pump diaphragm? I found some salt water in mine the first time I took apart and some fresh water the second time.

anything that goes through the motor, can end up in the fuel pump diaphragm by way of the pulse line. how did you know it was salt water the first time? did you taste it?

is this the thread where we post pics of our toys anchored up before/after a day on the water?

That's why I buy it by the case at the beginning of the season. Local place sells 3 jugs for 114. Keeps me from having to go back and forth

Sounds like you had a great time. Whereabouts is Lake Chelan?

It is about 30 miles East of Wenatchee (Are you in Vancouver WA?) Very hot climate, high-desert, dry and all that. Timeshare there for every Summer, I used to bring a pair of machines every year AND a boat, along with a small group of friends. Kids changed all that.

I have to get used to actually BUYING the oil. In my previous life, I had access to a 55 gallon drum that we directly filled machines with. I didn't realize how good I really had it.

Nope, up north in Canada, looks like a real nice place, may have to try it out. We usually go to the Okanagan.

Yes, keep water from going through crankcase, I got that! :) My "calibrated" salinity tester indicated it came from NY Harbor(bought boat from guy on long island)! I don't know if the boat ever took on any appreciable amount of salt water but I've only run in fresh and never had much in the bilge, I'm pretty sure there hasn't been enough to enter through the airbox but this spring found a couple drops of fresh water in diaphragm.

I torqued the head after seeing water second time.

Just wondering if you guys always, never, or usually find water there.
