Testing the rectifier

I read that you should undo the red wire to the rectifier to test it but the red wire is part of the plug that also has the black wire on it. Do you just unplug both wires or do you have to do the red wire only?

Rectifier?....

The rectifier is what changes your AC current into DC current. Your regulator adjusts that current to maintain 14 VDC.

If you want to test it, start the PWC, take a multi meter and test the battery. If your getting 14 VDC on your multi meter at the battery, then the rectifier is good....:cheers:

What if your voltage is staying the same? I had 11.95 volts when the engine wasnt running, i started it, brought it to around 5000 rpm and still had the exact same reading. ???
